Our Chief Happiness Officer (CHO), Christian, was with a home care operator, recent Georgia State University Masters of Gerontology graduate and they had the privilege of visiting Town Square Innovative Adult Day Center in Sandy Springs today.  Our CHO left genuinely moved. 🌟

There’s a distinction worth making that most people miss: adult day health centers are not the same as adult daycares. Town Square is proof of exactly why that difference matters.

What I walked into was a comprehensive care environment - think therapy services, dementia and Alzheimer’s specialized programming, medication administration, wellness evaluations, and nursing oversight - all wrapped inside a warm, nostalgic setting designed to spark joy and connection.

But let me share a moment that stopped me in my tracks.

A few months ago, we had a woman's neighbor reach out and share that her neighbor was experiencing significant memory loss. Her son had moved into the basement - waiting. You know what I mean. He had not invested one iota into his Mother’s care.

I suggested Town Square as a resource and the neighbor assumed she wouldn’t be eligible because of her condition. She mentioned the woman hadn’t showered in months.

I shared that with Town Square Director, Marisa Gallo, who without missing a beat said, “That is no problem at all. We can help her shower and assist with personal maintenance care.”

This showed me how much Town Square meets people exactly where they are.
